WALKLATE, DAY, CARTLIDGE, ROBERTS (All Staffordshire)
« on: Wednesday 13 September 06 16:19 BST (UK) »

Any person researching the above names.

Day. originated from Enville,1700, Kingswinford then ended up in Stoke, Longton abt 1922
Main names are James c 1856 & Joanna c about 1844, they had several children one being Josiah, c 1891 he went on to marry Lilly Walklate c about 1895 from Fenton, the had a son called William Josiah.

William J married a Freda Cartlidge I believe from Abbey Hulton her parents were Susannah Hannah Roberts & Absalom Cartlidge, c about 1888. they married in 1922, Wolstanton, Staffs

I am stuck on Lilly Walklate father, her mother was Sarah, c about 1868 from Fenton

Any help would be very much appreciated

This may be of interest to you.

I am in the process of transcribing an indenture dated 1669. One of the parties involved is Edward Day of Stone Staffordshire and grouped with him is his wife Frances and their son Edward Day the younger. The Indenture is quite lengthy and details the sale of lands and buildings in the Parish of Stone. The other party to the Indenture is Thomas Roolings  (or Rowlings). Could these Days be ancestors of yours?

The Edward Day concerned may be an Edward Day who married Frances Okeley in West Bromwich (then Staffordshire) circa 1640.
