possible usefull site re Whitehaven families in WWII
« on: Wednesday 13 September 06 21:46 BST (UK) »

I've just been surfing about trying to find some info - and came across a BBC website I knew it was there and have looked at it many times however I thought it may be of use to people specially the following names from Whitehaven

McCrickett, Savage, McCrink, Hermengild, Cowan, Marzilier, Schon,  Sekers, Spedding, Walker, William Joyce 'Lord Haw Haw'
Location of stories:  Whitehaven, Cleator Moor, Cleator, Cumberland, Denmark

each story contains pictures

http://www.bbc.co.uk/ww2peopleswar/user/37/u1268437.shtml   and the list of stories is at the bottom of the page

Hope some use

Hello stranger! Smiley

I had my annual visit to Whitehaven last week.  The sun always shines there!

Hi Geoff

I've been really busy what with my job and things which hard work seems to be paying off and I'm busy looking for a house

I have managed to meet one of my american relations who this time a year ago didn't know existed

I've been trying to find information about my dads regiment the 301/100 HAA Reg't Royal Artillery and this is my current quest

Thanks for a great link......one of the articles contains a reference to 'one of mine'......and I cannot figure out how to contact the author for verification. Can you help? If not, then I wonder if someone could advise me how to contribute to the linked site - I have original commissions to Border Regiment and lots of photos and there are no names on the photos. My own Dad is easily recognisable on the pictures. Isn't it odd how often 'Whitehaven' is mentioned on this site - don't you think?Huh?

That site stopped taking contributions in January, but perhaps if you contacted the feedback section here they could help

Good luck
