My hubby has the Fulton name twice in his line, unsure if they are connected. My info is on the other computer.
4 Garvald Street was knocked down years ago - as I came from there I may have some photos

Hi Folks,
Many thanks to you all for coming back on this thread. I was on holiday in France when I got the email notification of the postings, thanks to MacDonalds . Unfortunately, it would have taken too much time to post a reply after checking the information I have on the family.
I have now confirmed that Janet McKenzie was the daughter of John McKenzie and Janet McDougall, who married in New Parish, Greenock, 13/6/1836.
I have traced 7 children of this marriage, All but Elizabeth are approximate, William 1838, John 1840, Duncan 1842, Janet 1844, Henry 1846, Elizabeth 31/7/1849 and Grace 1850.
The above information was taken from the 1851 and 1861 census returns.
I have also managed to go back another generation with Janet's maternal side of the family. Janet McDougall was the daughter of John McDougall and Elizabeth Dow, who married in Middle or New Parish, Greenock, 14/6/1805. Can't remember where I got that from but possibly IGI.
As an aside, and to throw a spanner in the works, Thomas and Janet's daughter, Janet Fulton born 4/3/1868, married Dougal McDougall 2/7/1886, which takes me back to another John McDougall. This one possibly married to a Flora McColl? Both Johns' births c 1770/1780s. Oh well, onwards and upwards, and no work done today
Many thanks again,
Anne
