Violet Cowherd b1905 marriage? death?

Can anyone help PLEASE. I can find the birth of VIOLET COWHERD born 1905 daughter of William Cowherd and Fanny Nelson, registered in Kendal. I cannot find a marriage or death record. I was led to believe she died in childbirth between 1925 - 1935, but I dont know if this is true, I think the child survived. She may have just left the area. She may have been unmarried, but there again I am not sure.

fisrtly check the death indexes under har maiden name,

if she should not appear there:   search the marriage indexes

and then re-search the death indexes under her married name.

Once again, thanks so much for your help - you are obviously more experienced than me! I am now looking for my uncle's death - Can you give me some hints? I think I must be doing something wrong. I go on the the home page then bmd - select deaths and put approximate years in - it brings up pages and pages to look through - is there a better way? I am using ancestry.co.uk. By the way his name, if your interested, was Bruce Cowherd b1909 - he was killed mid twenties on a motorcycle.

Thanks - yes Fanny was the mother of Violet - I managed to find this one but I am still trying to trace the death of her brother Bruce.

If you click on BMDs on home page you should be able to choose which to search then you can put in name and year or years you want to search and view the pages.Its still a lot of trawling but I like doing it.

You're a star. I don't really know what I am looking for, except that it has been suggested recently to me that my grandparents were really my great grandparents. It was suggested to me that Violet was really Edna's (my mum's) mother and not sister - I don't know how to find out. The register lists Fanny Nelson as her mother (my grandmother) which is as I have always thought but it could have been a cover-up (because Violet was unmarried)and Fanny would have been 42 at that time . I think one of the daughters could have had a child out of wedlock. I will give you the dates. Violet 1905 - 1927 (mn George)  and Sarah (mn Barnes) 1911 - 2001. Edna 1925 -1996 (it was not her but the age gap between Violet and Edna was 20 years) The Plot thickens!!!
