McRae/Kerr/McKenzie Wick and Assynt
« on: Wednesday 20 September 06 18:47 BST (UK) »

I'm puzzling over Norman Kerr's death informant (1865) Colin McRae - he put himself down as Norman's cousin at an address of Dempster St, Pultneytown, Wick.  He's on the 1871 Census at Dempster St, born Assynt, age 64, fisherman, with wife Christian age 60 born Wick and sister in law Helen Taylor, unmarried age 57.  He's not on the census for 1861 in Wick and the only Colin McRae in Stoer then is a tailor married to Mary McLeod (daughter of William McLeod and Isabella McKenzie).  Any ideas?

normans first wife was margaret mcleod so maybe thats the connection any help is appreciated thanks Michele  Huh Huh
