Hi,

The 1881 Census show over 17,000 people called Stephenson with the majority over 3000 living in Co. Durham followed by West Yorkshire 3800 and Lancashire 2300. (This figure includes 177 living in Ulverston.

In Westmoreland there are 136 for this period 81 living in the East Ward. Grin
