Adding Photos - Very very very simple instructions please.

Is there anyone out there who could write very simply and clearly how to add a photo to a post? The existing tutorials are fine if you are reasonably computer literate but many of us are not and struggle outside the familiar things that we are able to do on the computer.
I envisage a set of numbered instructions with the author aiming at a person not dumb but not brought up in the computer age. I think that any terms used should be clearly defined as I often find that even fairly clued up people have basic gaps in their knowledge.
I know that I could probably sit down and work it all out but it would take me a while and it would be nice to do it the easy way.

It worked! Thanks Gar. Not much of a photo attached, it was picked at random, unseen. The process was remarkably easy.

Charlie: I'm glad it worked for you  Smiley
I know I struggled with attachments at first and it was because I couldn't "see" what I needed to be doing.

Great photo too - reminds me of crossing the Channel to Calais on one of the ferries.

Bob: I'm glad that I was able to distill it to 5 steps - hope that others will benefit as Charlie has done.

Hi Susan,

just a guess: are you trying to attatch an image to a topic on a "County" board ??

This facility has been supressed there, to stop people adding (copyright) census and certificate images.
