I have James Lacon Beard in my family tree. He was born in about 1840 in Old Swinfors Worcestershire. Although James' parents James Lacon Beard and Mary Salt had originally come from St Leonards, Shropshire. I have only ever found one other person searching my line of the Beard's.

Hello Mike,
    I am seeking information on the Beard/Scrivens line.I understand that Rosina Scrivens married George Beard in about 1887. Their son Alfred was born on 19.11.1887;later married twice. His first wife and he produced several children;
   1.  Alfred James Thomas born 31.7.1920-20.6.1995
   2.  Rose
   3.  Eva Beatrice
   4.  Alice
   5.  Landon Donald,at whose birth both mother and baby died.
Alfred (1) then remarried Lillian Maud Taylor
Does this sound like your family?
I would very much like to hear from you .
           Yours sincerely, Judith Wakefield.

Hi Mike

Thanks for your interest. My Gt Grandmother was Elizabeth Mary Scrivens, b. 14 Sep 1850, Eastington, Glos. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Scrivens (b.abt 1816) & Richard Scrivens (b.abt 1811) who were possibly cousins given that they both had the surname Scrivens before marriage. Elizabeth Mary married Richard Pinchin and moved to Worcestershire sometime around 1882. They had 12 children, Richard, Willm, Sarah Ann, Fanny, Agnes, Charles, Elizabeth, Kate, John, Gertrude, Albert & Sydney. Does this ring any bells?

Oh dear, I'm sorry, I have lots of Scrivens listed but not one that ties in with your group. I trust you wont mind if I add these to my book in the hope that we might find a link at some time.

Mike

You probably have the Scrivens Gedcom file that I already have then (from Scrivens 1580 and Joane Green?),  it's been doing the rounds. I've a strong feeling that my Scrivens do tie into it, it's just that no one has found the link yet. I've gone as far back as Richard Scrivens, b. abt 1770 who married Jane --?--, possibly Northleach area.  A trip to the GLS records office might fill in the blanks when I can find the time.

Mike

The Scrivens gedcom file I have  is online at http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?Richard,SCrivens::scriven::152.html
I've a feeling there are one or two errors though.

Due to hosting problems this file is no longer on line - please e-mail me.

this includes many side branched not just the Beard and Scrivens direct line.

Please let me know if you find a link.

I have an Ann Beard married to a Richard Cooper in 1813 in Birmingham.  Ann was from Wolverhampton.  From over here in OZ I am not sure if this is close to your area?

I have no other info about the Beard family, but quite a bit about the Coopers
