A Prayer for Pete
« on: Monday 25 September 06 21:44 BST (UK) »

I have been watching the Channel4 documentary about the guy with an aneurysm and it reminded me of the following.

Pete is a friend of a friend but his family are going through a very tough time at the moment. He has an AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation) in his brain and it could burst at any time.

He and his wife have appeared on TV and radio over the last few weeks as they are trying to raise the £70,000 for his operation and aftercare.

Please can I ask all Rootschatters to say a prayer for this family.

If you feel you want to help please PM me.

Thanks

Dinie

Update: Pete & his wife are going to be on BBC London evening news on Monday 2 October 2006.

My prayers are winging their way to Arch Angel Raphael with a request to be by Pete's side at all times and to help heal him.

With love

How awful for Pete and Julia and their sons!  How can the NHS refuse an operation because it's too risky when the result when the AVM burst will be so catastrophic.

Prayers and best wishes winging their way to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Pete and his family.

Nearly 20 years ago I was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm.  I had several choices, none of which were really good, and chose to have the surgery.  Unfortunately the bubble was so huge it burst as soon as they touched it while on the operating table. They managed to clip the artery but such things are never cut and dried.

I have a lot of long term memory blanks and problems with balance and depth perception, but on the whole have been incredibly lucky.

Keep the faith Pete.  There are many of us out there who do understand your situation and will be with you in spirit no matter what happens

Best of luck mate

Thank you all for your prayers and comments. I will print the thread off and pass it onto the family.
