Where's CRICK in 1871 (on Ancestry) ?

Some time ago a very helpful person found my ADKINS family in 1871 and transcribed the details for me.

I now have a subscription for Ancestry and thought I'd print off the census image for my files.

I can't find them - anywhere  Huh

The reference I was given (which I am assuming isn't ancestry's) was RG10/3186 39a.

The family should be easy enough to spot - father's name was Perrin Bishop ADKINS, and amongst the children is an Archibald.  I have searched every conceivable variation of Perrin, Adkins, Archibald, Florence, Frances, etc. and they are just not there - they should either be Crick or Rugby - Crick I can't find at all, and half of Rugby appears to be missing - but it might just be me...... Roll Eyes

Does anyone know which parishes are missing from Ancestry's 1871 census before I go goggle-eyed?  I've tried looking on their site but can't find anything useful.

Thanks for the suggestion but it's definitely Crick with a 'k' !   (Near Rugby/Daventry).  That's about the one thing they're consistent with  Grin

Just found Crick in Northamptonshire,where there is an Archibald Adkins,age 15  (1881) census.

Hiya - flesh it out with DoBs and PoBs of Perrin and Archibald and I'll start from scratch - that PIECE number must be wrong ...


UPDATE - Nope its correct for Crick as a sub district of Rugby - albeit in Warks, not Northants - not that that would matter for a search on name ...

Righty here goes


Perrin Bishop ADKINS - born c1841/2 - to William and Ann Adkins.  (after the census - typical).  Christened January 1842 - St Andrews, Rugby.

1851 - at home with William and Ann (and siblings) in St Andrews area of Rugby.

1861 - still at home in Rugby.

1871 - can't find but should be with his wife Frances E, and children Edith E, Archibald C, Florence M, Thomas W and Elizabeth H.  

1872- Perrin Bishop Adkins death.

1881 - widowed Frances Adkins in Crick with 3 youngest children - all of whom were born there.

I have all the census images except for 1871 - but it must exist - as I said, someone found me the details........

OK - I think that RUTHP who did the original transcription either made a mistake with the RG Refn number, or used a CD with its own IDS

Folio 39a is unusual - altho Ancestry is not listing that PIECE number as having any problems

and he's in the ancestore "bit" under " Perrin" Bishop Adkin.!!

The Ref is correct  Rugby 3186/39a.It just does not seem to be there on ancestry.The nearest villages also are missing.I note that it goes as far as Clifton Dunsmore and then seem to stop.I searched finally in a fit of pique on Family History on Line which has a transcription only and there they are!

Suspected it might be missing those sub-districts in the PIECE as searching CRICK as a PoB was OK, but not as a Parish ...
