Hi,
I am looking for information please about the parents, siblings and children of Joshua Rossiter born circa 1830 in King's Brompton.
His parents are John Rossiter & Mary ( maiden name unknown) but I have no other details about them.
I'd also be interested in details of any other Rossiter families in this under-researched area as they will probably be related.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Hi Mary,
That looks like them. Wonder what has happened to husband, John? Maybe he is working away or perhaps he had died? Is there a death record for a John Rossiter in the period 1835 to 1841 please?

You can search the death index for yourself at www.ancestry.co.uk, it will ask you to register but that's free. Unfortunately civil registration only started at 1837.
If you are sure this is the family then here is 1851

it also shows these siblings-
prudence rossiter born 27th nov 1823 bapt 4th dec 1823.this record shows marys maiden name as suttly
caleb rossiter born 2nd march 1827 bapt 18th march 1827
john rossiter born 22nd june 1835 bapt 3rd may 1836
these are extracted records not memeber submitted.

Thanks for that. I have this family in my database but didn't have the precise birth and baptism records dates for Joshua and John.
Joshuas are a bit of a pain for me at the moment. This family seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth after entering the IGI records.
I have Mary Suttly's year of birth as about 1791 but no date and place of marriage or death.
Can't seem to find any deaths for the rest or any marriages. Looks like this branch just died out.
I have a Joshua James Rossiter on another thread who appears on the 1881 census as being born in Devon but doesn't appear as Joshua on any other censuses. The nearest is a James Joshua Rossiter, who appears to be born in Wiveliscombe. the joysof genealogy eh!! LOL!!
