Hello,
I am trying to find the parents/baptism of John ABSOLON who states in census records he was born in Berks, Wallingford c1798.
He married Susan/nah STONE in Rickmansworth, Herts in 1821. I dont know if his family remained in Wallingford or not. There are many John ABSOLONs and variants of the name, but I am yet to identify any one of them as the man I am looking for. He became a Master Baker, eventually settling in Islington/Clerkenwell areas of Middlesex.
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

This may just be a co-incidence but a girl I knew from school vaguely,or rather my brother did,was called Sue Absolon,i found her again on the St,Crispins School (Wokingham) website for past pupils asking if anyone remembered her she lives in USA now,born about 1942.

Hi Estelle,
There is a William and Sophia Absolon still in Wallingford in 1851. He was aged 62 and a butcher. He might be your John's younger brother? He was born Wallingford, his wife in Cholsey.
An unmarried Jane Absolon age 60 is in Wallingford Workhouse, and a George age 42 a night policeman and family are also there. As is a visitor to Mary Marks, one Mary Absolon age 45. The Absolons all born Wallingford.
This doesn't help you at the moment, but may become relevant later.
