I am trying to find more on my mother-in-law's family. She was born Dorothy Ward, in Woolwich. Her parents were Albert Edward Ward (Woolwich) and Louisa (Bridget) Flanagan (Plumstead) Louisa's parents were David and Eliza Flanagan, both came from Ireland (no other info on them)
Albert Ward's mother was born Eliza Anderson, apparently on St.Helena Island (Atlantic, near S. Africa). From what I've found, she had a brother Isaac Anderson. Their father's name was Isaac also. Not sure about their mother's name, possibly Sarah Prosser.
Hoping someone will see something familiar.
thanks

I was also tracing an Irish family who ended up in Plumstead & Woolwich, as well as having children in Malta, Corfu & Canada (father was in Royal Artillery). Could there be a military connection in your family which brought them from Ireland to Kent?

That's interesting to hear. I have no idea if there was any military connection. I don't know anything about the Irish family before they appear in Plumstead. I assumed they came over because of the Famine.
Here's hoping someone else finds all of this familiar.
Thanks for your note.
