I expect they will have signs up directing us to where you are.
So, how will I reconise you - will you be wearing a red carnation - or a name badge?

Yes, name badge (unless I get around to doing the t-shirt). Last year we put up a sign, but we will have to see what is possible when we get there.
Just to be unbiased, other organisations will be represented such as Glos Library Service and BBC's own FH researcher Sue Stafford.
Open to all from beginners to experts.

I'll let my colleauge at work know - she asked me how to begin searching her family tree last week.
I have only been searching for about a year - I took it up because I really didn't know anything about my family. Wish I had started earlier when my Nan was still alive - Dad can't really remember too much about his Grandparents. Makes it a bit difficult to trace, though - don't think I have done too badly so far.
See you on Saturday.

Hurrah!
Edith Mabel = E M = Em or Emma (why not?!)
What did the cert say about the father - or did you look in the record office? Might be worth looking at the baptism if you haven't seen it: some records are more revealing than others.

Hi Lizzy
Have a look at this link
http://www.workhouses.org.uk/index.html?Dursley/Dursley.shtml
If she was in the Workhouse, the Guardians' Minutes books are held at Gloucester Archives.

Hi Susan Thanks for the link- I've had a look for her in 1881 she doesn't show as one of the inmates or staff.
I will take alook at the Guardians Minutes next time I'm in the records office.
Many thanks again
Lizzy
