Hiya

I'm looking for help with this bunch of mellors as listed in the 1881 census as

Oops sorry, Not sure what I did, I read the copyright site though  Huh I'll be more careful - Emily

Would be very apperictaive if anyone could post about this family in census' previous and after 1881. I'm particulary interested in Arthur and the parents.

Thankyou
Emily

Hi Emily,

I can find Arthur (b 1877) living with a brother John (b1860) still in Almondbury in 1901.

1901 census transcriptions free at the moment on www.ancestry.co.uk

I've found a Wright Mellor, (b 1873), in Almondbury,  living with wife Emma E aged 29 born Northamptonshire and son Edward Jackson, aged 10, and also born Northamptonshire; 1901 census.

Out of time to look for any more at the moment!

Also think that there is a strong possibility of James marriage was to Mary Senior.  On the 1851 census next door but one was this family, all born Lepton

Jonathan Senior, 48, hd, marr, delver
Hannah, wife, 56
Ruth, 19, unmar, dau, weaver
Mary, 15, unmar, dau, weaver

In 1861 the family is still at thorpe, Almondbury with dau Ruth but no mary.

Marriages Jun 1857

Mellor  James     Huddersfield  9a 342
Senior  Mary     Huddersfield  9a 342

There are 3/4 other marriages to consider, but I have a hunch this is the correct one, due to year of marriage in relation to first born and location.  to confirm you can obtain one of the childrens birth cert.

Link to Almondbury you may find of interest.

Check the monumental inscriptions for the church at Honley in Almonbury, there are many Mellor names.

Think thats it   Smiley

While i'm on the topic would anyone be able to help me with one more problem?

I'm looking for the family of

EDWIN MELLOR (b 1847) who married MARTHA DAWSON (b1848) both from SHEPLEY.

I have the family in 1881 but I am interested in his family in censuss before that and his siblings and parents.

Thanks
