'Talk to the hands, 'cos the face ain't listening'

1851C Sawley
« on: Tuesday 10 October 06 14:43 BST (UK) »

Hi,
Would a KS please look up the following on the 1851C for Sawley.

I have Joseph Stenson b. 1837. According to the details of his marriage certificate dated 1858, he was 21 years old when married (to Elizabeth Barnes). On the 1881C he's listed as being 41 yrs old.

I don't have any details for any siblings, but his marriage certificate states that his father was John, a shoemaker

Thanks

The missing word is 'quick'. My typing is not so good.

In 1861, they are with mum in law Maria Barnes plus a Fanny Barnes, 20, visitor.

From there on, I can trace Elizabeth back to 1851. Would you like the details, or do you have them already?

Thanks but I have the details on Elizabeth.
I'm stuck at work, and the works system will allow me onto Rootschat but not onto the census sites. I'd thought I'd post and enquiry, which might lead to a response to give me something to do.

Given the ages, I suspect that Eliza, is the illegitimate daughter of Phillis. I haven't seen this note of illegitamacy before.
