Hi Neko,

I might be totally missing your point mainly because I haven't
got a clue what your gripe is.   I had a quick look at your profile to see
if I could help you.  Age N/A.   Location unknown.
Flag shown on your avatar  err..     is it France?
Numerous names on your relations/ ancestors/ surname
    interests.   From where?

I do not feel safe in doing this so would rather not have them added,

Lemon

I don't think you should have to either, although I don't mind myself any pressure to do so would totaly detract from the free flow of this site. We are here to help each other while at the same time respecting each others privacy.

Simply adding the country we are in would help. No need for county, state, town, village etc. I've tried working out which country people are in by looking at the time it is where they live. Not always easy.

Hi Neko, Smiley

You have to remember that there is ab 60 million of us living on this tiny little rock, as such we have a fierce pride in the little " HAMLETS " ,  we live in before the bulldozers  come in to make way for " AFFORDABLE HOUSING " Huh

AS for vintage drink.  Huh. I Have a bottle of Dimple scotch in the cuboard here, still wrapped in the rotting christmas netting that it was giving to my late dad ab 50 years ago, Huh, Here is the rub, ab 6 years ago, I had to call the doctor out to my dad, The doctor told me " the truth "   Cry .  He told me if he had another one of theses he would die,

As I was getting him ready to go into hospital, He rembered the scotch,  Smiley, I told him when you come home tommorow, we will break the seal, Huh.  The next day he was dead Huh.

Pete,

Neko, if you ever happen to join the American air force, as a bomb aimer, just remember I live on a small island called Great Britian,

A useful download for anyone who has a hamlet/church name is Parloc.
(Parish Locater) .
It has been reissued and updated ,with many more obscure hamlets added than on the original programme of some years ago.

I appreciate your whinge, but as mentioned above many family history websites and software are overwhemingly USA-centric.

So I had to smile...
