Hurst / Levingston/ Livingston(e)
« on: Friday 22 February 08 10:45 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me by provide any information on my GG Grandparents George Hurst & Elizabeth Livingston(e) / Levingston.

George Hurst was born in Fermanangh in approx. 1838. His father was James Hurst and mother was Mabel (unsure of maiden surname).

Elizabeth was also born in Fermanagh, in approx. 1839Livingston(e) - as per their marriage cert (to George Hurst on 25 Aug 1865 @Sydney NSW Australia). / Levingston - as per their son William's birth certificate (4 Jan 1866 @ Macleay River NSW Australia)

I know for certain that George & Elizabeth immigrated to Australia some time before 1865 and believe both James and Mabel (George's parents) also did. I am not sure when this occured or if they came to Australia together aboard the same ship.

Any information / help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Rebecca

Hi Rebecca
Grace HURST b. about 1841 was the sister of George - her parents were James and Maybelle (Mabel) HURST. Grace came to Australia with her youngest son my grandfather George Thomas THOMPSON in 1906. Grace is buried in Waverley Cemetery. Love to hear from you.  . . .  Beth
