Hi Becky.
I am amazed to come across this phenominal gathering of information that you have put together. Even more amazed that my earlier searches on Rootschat didn't throw up your generous offer.

I am very interested in the name HAGGARTY. I have ancestors on both sides of the border. Berwickshire lies in the midst and for a long time I've felt the most likely place from where my Haggarty's originated. My earliest is 1800 b Scotland but an 1851 census record in England used the spelling HAGGART, which indicates Scots origins but only stated Scotland as place of birth.

I would be most appreciative of any HAGGARTY information.

Thanking you in advance for your help.
Very Best Regards
Art Birchell.

Becky,

What a huge offer!!!   You must be constantly looking names up for people!!!

We all really appreciate your generosity  - my family also come from this area, and I have noticed a couple of the surnames that appear in my tree on your list....

I notice you have already posted info on one Isabella Chirnside who married a Duncan - I think she was a sister of one of my ancestors.
if you have any info on Andrew Chirnside (I think there may have been more than one), the family of Elizabeth Gordon who married an Andrew Chirnside, the family of an Isabella Stoddart who also married an Andrew Chirnside...  I would be so thrilled

Kind regards,

Danielle James.
