I'm looking for some people in the 1841 and 1851 British census:
William Eaton Charles Eaton - William's son, b. about 1818 in Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire.
Andrew Lind Ann - I believe this was the name of Andrew's wife Anne Margaret Lind - Andrew's daughter, b. about 1821 in Shoreditch, London
Charles and Anne were married around 1841 in London, and they lived in the Islington area after that. They should also have two sons by that time, Charles (b. 1847) and William (b. 1849). I don't know when Charles moved from Lincolnshire to London, nor whether the rest of his family stayed in Pinchbeck.
I have the family of Charles and Anne in the 1861, 1871, and 1881 censuses, but I'd like to try to find them and their parents earlier. If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

This may be Charles & Ann in 1841 - but I am having no joy finding 1851
Charles Street Burough Finsbury Parish St Lukes Middlesex HO107/667/1 24/6
Says that Charles is born in County
Not sure where the household starts/ends - perhaps someone else may be able to decipher. Based on a "do" against address the household is
Richard Howard 30 Engineer Martha do 30 Sophia do 9 Martha do 2 Joseph Berry 20 engineer Charles Eaton 20 Glass .... Y Ann do 20 Y Emma Gunton 12
all born in county

Perhaps the Lind family - also at St Lukes HO107/668/7 16/24 Europa Place
Andrew Lind 50 Watch finisher Y Ann do 41 Ann do 9 Sarah do 7 Andrew do 16 All born in county
If this is the family - 2 daughters called Ann? Is it possible this Ann could be a different wife?
In 1851, I find an Andrew Lind and Helen
St Luke Middlesex HO107/1521 294/15&16 (no address given - prev family 10 Langton St) Andrew Lind Head mar 57 Watch finisher Middx Clerkenwell Helen Lind wife mar 50 watch finisher's wife St Luke Mdx Ann do sister U 60 London St Brides
Could he have been a widower in 1841 & the Ann listed is his sister? Ages not quite correct.

Thanks! All three of your findings look like they're the people I'm looking for - on Charles's and Anne's marriage certificate, it says that priot to the marriage Charles lived on Charles St. and Anne on Europa Place. I've also just noticed that Andrew Lind is said to be a watch finisher on the certificate.
Might Charles Eaton's occupation in the 1841 census read "Glazier's diamond setter"? That's what it is on the marriage certificate.
Even if the 41 year old Ann is Andrew's sister, it is quite peculiar that there would be a nine year old Ann in the Lind family in 1841. Maybe this Ann was his sister's daughter or some other relation.
More questions than answers here, perhaps. Thanks again, though, you've been most helpful.

There always seem to be more questions You could be correct about the 1841 occupation - it is quite long but has a dark line through dark writing & I find it impossible to interpret. Sorry I can't find the family in 1851
