Thomas Roberts & Mary Ann Walder 1864 Marriage

Hi
I am looking for a Thomas Roberts in 1841 in Kent.
Now this is interesting as in 1871, by then living in London, his age was 38 and birthplace Wrotham, Kent, but in 1881 his age was 60, and birthplace as New Cross, Kent, one of the censuses being a mistranscription probably with the ages, so that would of made him 8 or 20 in 1841. His father was also called Thomas Roberts.

due to the variations in location and age, I would look more at the possibility that these are in fact two different people. Or he gave wrong information. I think its unlikely to be a mistranscription.
There is a Thomas Roberts Chr abt 1868 in Deptford - No first name of father Mother was Harriet. Deptford / New Cross.

Have you managed to make any progress with this request yet? Are there any further details on the marriage certificate ie. age/address/occupation/father's occupation/marriage witnesses? When/where/who did he marry? In fact, anything at all to help locate him in 1861 and then work backwards from there perhaps?

Thomas Roberts and his father Thomas Roberts were both described as servants on his 1864 marriage cert to my ggg gran Mary Ann Walder in West Hackney Church, Stoke Newington, London, his age was given as just "Full Age", but he was a widower, and the marriage witness names dont ring any bells though, address was just West Hackney, but their first child, my gg gran was baptised 4 months later and address was Samuel Row.
A fellow member found Mary Ann Walder aged 21 on the 1861 census in Warninglid, Slaugham in West Sussex.
I know Thomas died inbetween 1886 and 1890.
It would be good to trace him on 1841 and 1851 censuses.

Hi Ben,
I've checked the 1841 census of Wrotham, but I couldn't find any families with the surname Roberts. If he was born there, then he'd probably moved on to London by then.
