Wedding Cert 1836

Can anyone tell me if it possible to get a copy of a wedding certificate for a marriage that took place in Jan 1836 ?  And if so - how you go about it.  I know anything 1837 and onwards can be obtained from the records offices but what do you do pre 1837 ?
The wedding cert I would be looking for is:-
31 Jan 1836 John Redfern m. Nancy Orme at Prestbury St Peter.

Advice would be appreciated
