Do you have marriage details of these two? Do you know their father's names? I can find two entries for William on FreeBMD in Ashton Under Lyne, and a few in Yorkshire, but no Dinah's as one of the partners, but doing a search for the right age in 1851, birthplace Yorkshire finds only one William and surprisingly a Dinah in the family too, could this be a name which runs in the family? maybe he married a cousin?

Thanks for Dinah & William on the 1861 census. 
I dont know William's father's name, as I dont
have their marriage certificate, but I do know that they
were married in St.Kaths Thorne Yorkshire.
I have those details from a distant cousin who is also tracing the Welderick name which was Dinah maiden name.
I will keep the Crompton details on file just in case they are cousins because Dinah does run in the family.
