phoebe irving or hervin

Can anyone help please, I am trying to locate the birth of the above lady,
1.  her gravestone says she was born in 1902 and died in 1982,
2.  her marriage certificate names her as Irving and aged 21 and married in st James Church in Trowbridge
3.  her death cert. says she was born in Trowbridge and she is named as nee Hervin and she died in RUH in Bath in 1982 and her married name was Hitchcock.
Any help would be gratefully received

Hi Lellysmum

Have you looked through the complete birth indexes to see if there are any possibles in the Wiltshire area?

What does the marriage cert say about her father and were there any relatives as witnesses?  When did she marry?

It might be possible to find her parents in 1901 since she was born quite soon after.

Let us have all the clues and we will see what can be done to assist!

Hi lellysmum,

At first sight, I'd have thought the marriage cert is trustworthier because the information was given given by Phoebe herself (as opposed to the death cert, obviously  Roll Eyes ). However I can't see a Phoebe Irving registered in Wiltshire in 1902, whereas there is a Phoebe Hervin.

Do you know whether she had elder siblings who would appear on the 1901 census? I can see a Hervin family in Trowbridge in 1901, father William (dealer general), mother Julia and children Ada age 7, Willie age 4, Arthur age 2.  
 
Do these names ring any bells?

What's her father's name on the marriage cert? Are there any Hervin/Irving witnesses?
