From my own research I believe I've traced my great, great, great grandfather Caudle Clarke. He was born circa 1811 in Haughley Suffolk. I'm having great difficulty going an further back than this, though I have located a Caudle Clarke who in the 1841 census lived at the Cock Inn Haughley. The name Caudle has also been spelt Cordle over the years. Is anyone able to shed any light on this for me?

Hi Andy
I have had a look at Haughley PR for you, but I think this may raise more questions than it answers .
Caudle s/o Caudle and Kezia Clarke (late Clarke) bn 29.5.1810, bap 11.6.1810 Also Thomas s/o Caudle and Kezia Clarke (late Clarke) bap 21.6.1812
as well as:
Caudle s/o Robert and Mary Clarke (late Garrard) bap 16.6.1811
I don't know how you'll tell which one is yours, but if the first one is, then I have the marriage for you also:
Caudle Clarke m. Keziah Clarke 12.5.1806 at Haughley
Good luck
Anne

Yes, her maiden name was listed as Clarke in both the baptism and marriage register
