St Paul's Church, Portwood. Stockport

I would like to include a picture of St Paul's Church, Portwood, Stockport in some family history notes.  Understand the church has been demolished?

Grateful for advice on where I could find a picture

Hi Gerry - I've found that there are some "historic photographs" on part of Stockport's website at
http://www.rootschat.com/links/052j/
I couldn't see St Paul's on there (could have missed it) but it does say these are part of the collection & gives a link for the Local Heritage Library, so it may be worth asking them.

I've looked on my "usual suspect" websites Cheshire Churches & Carl's Cam & they have nothing either.  Sad

Thanks for the site details.  Some interesting pictures, sadly none of St Paul's that I could see. Sad

Hi Gerry,

I’ve been looking in Stockport Library for photographs of St Paul’s.
I didn’t find any but did find a couple of illustrations.
I picked the one I thought best and you will find it on the practice post on the beginner’s board.  I’m not too confident with the scanner and attaching images, always worried about getting the size right so thought the beginner’s board was the best place.

Pat.
