In that case, I assume it means searching the census records and attempting to piece clues together. Rather like a giant jigsaw.

It seems the Puseys were in Lewknore a long time - started spreading out in mid 1850s.

As well as the 1841 - 1901 Census years (various online transcriptions and access to original images)

..... Take a look at the IGI (Church of Latter Days Saints / Mormons) site - www.familysearch.org
which has transcribed a fair chunk of Parish Registers ...

also for Civil Registration from 1837 onward, Births, Deaths and Marriages - a good deal has been indexed and made freely available - http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

Then dont neglect using Google, searching on here and asking questions - you'll find you pick up a lot without becoming an anorack   Cheesy

PS: Excellent analogy you made !

Hi Macca,

The Charlotte Pusey in my tree is only a Pusey by marriage. She was born circa 1849. Her husband was called John, he was born circa 1846. This is a side of my tree that I've not researched too deeply yet so I don't have any further detail. I hope I've been some help but I expect not  Sad

Andy,

If you find your Butler's having any links with Shrivenham give me a shout.

I have a family of them there from around 1779 until 1815, not sure how long they were there before 1779 yet.

Family occupation seems to have been Surgeons.
