I wonder if there are any descendants of James Harris in the B in F area now? He was born in Kings Pyon, Herefordshire in 1868 and had a sister Sarah Harris born c 1869. Their mother, also a Sarah Harris, was born 1844 in Canon Pyon,Hfd. She was widowed and married my great grandfather George Pritchard.
After a quarrel with his half brother William Pritchard in later years, James left home. He became a policeman in Barrow in Furness and appears on the 1901 census with his wife Jessie 33, daughters Florence 8 and Grace 3; these 3 females all born in Bristol, and daughter Violet 2, born in B in F. Their 1901 address appears to be 76, Egerton Bldgs.(?)
Florence died in 1913. Her father James Harris sent my grandmother Alice Pritchard (his half sister) a funeral card which reads:-
"In Loving Remembrance of My Dear Daughter
Florence Minnie Clara Harris,
who died at 298d, Duke Street, Barrow in Furness,
on Tuesday, 29th July, 1913.
Aged 20 Years and 10 Months.
Interred in Barrow Cemetery on Saturday, August 2nd, 1913."
I believe there is someone in Glamorgan (contact name "gwlan" on the rootsweb site) who has information, but I am unable to contact this person.
