anyone going to hunts record office willing to do a lookup?

hi if there is anyone going to hunts record office and is willing to do a lookup for me i would really appreciate it,it's

court records-ref AH3-14

PENANCES file-valentine hall and elizabeth butterwick of orton longville certificate conferming pennance performed 9th may 1727-ref AH11/226/185- date 7 may 1727


i would be really interested to know what they paid pennance for also if a photocopy is possible i am more than happy to cover cost of photocopying and post ect...

hope someone can help

As you have the reference of the certificate why not email Huntingdon and ask if they'd send you a copy?

well i recived the certificate this morning at a bit of a dissapointment i cant work out all of the words but here's what it says
may 7th 1727
these are to certify that valentine hall and eliz butterwick both of long orton in the county of HuhHuh of huntingdon did on sunday the 7th day of may Huh? Huh?? perform publick pennance in the parish church of long orton aforosaid in the Huh?? divine services before of congragation there HuhHuh

would anyone be able to fill in the gaps i have spent most of today staring at it and cant make anymore sence

They married in Orton Longville in 1727 (Valentine of Whittlesey).  It wouldn't surprise me if there's an illegitimate child of this couple if you check the parish register, which is what the public penance is all about. Or something very similar.

It is things like this that really make people come alive.  Can you image what they would think of society today??  If the same values held true today there would be more people doing penance than not!!!

I am sorry I don't know enough about the area to even try and help you figure out what the document says.
