Hi Anne
There's only one marriage on Scotlands People showing for a George Pittendr*gh and a Jane between 1875-1900. So happens, there's a submitted entry on IGI for the same entry it would seem!
George Pittendreigh Death: 09 SEP 1910 Marriages: Spouse: Jane Killah Yeats Marriage: 06 DEC 1879 Gamrie, Banff, Scotland
Regards.
Monica

Hi Monica, thankyou so much for this info. The family are not mine,i am helping a friend out and he has very little info to go on.The family you gave me could be his,the only info he has any knowledge of is his grandparents were Frederick Wager born in Hartlepool County Durham in 1873,he married Margaret Pittendreigh who was born in Scotland .He thinks he can remember his mother talking about a George Pittendreigh and his wife Jane,so he is presuming that these were his grt grandparents. He is not even sure where in Scotland they came from but i done a search and the name seems to be popular in Aberdeen.Thankyou Monica for looking that up.Anne.

Given the marriage was a submitted entry, I just checked on IGI to see whether anybody had submitted children's births for this couple. As you know, actual extracts stop around 1875 for Scotland.......and they have, including a Margaret!
1. Margaret Pittendreigh Birth: 30 JAN 1880 Gamrie, , Aberdeen, Scotland 2. Isabella Ann Murray Pittendreigh Birth: 23 SEP 1881 Gamrie/ Death: 09 DEC 1881 Gamrie, Banff, Scotland 3. George Pittendreigh Birth: 12 OCT 1882 Gamrie, Banff, Scotland
Looking a good possibility it might be the right family.
Regards.
Monica

Anne
Following through with a c.1850 birth for George, there is this possibility on IGI:
GEORGE GRAY PITTENDRICH Birth: 04 FEB 1849 Christening: 15 MAR 1849 Fintray, Aberdeen, Scotland Parents: Father: JOHN PITTENDRICH Mother: JANE GEDDES
There is one more on IGI but that's in 1854 in Aberdeen.
On 1851 FreeCen, there are 2 George P. showing in the right age group:
PITTENDRICH George Son 1 b. Aberdeenshire - Aberdeen @ St Clements PITTENDRICH George Son 2 b. Aberdeenshire - Fintray @ Old Machar
If you do decide to look at the marriage cert. in 1879, you can verify George's parents and then work back to the censuses/IGI entries.
Regards.
