Have you found them on the 1841 Census together with children? Thinking if she were a widow, she may have had children by first marriage who kept using their birth surname (HARADGE or CLARK), or who are using the name WRIGHT but are older than the marriage - and who are with her in 1841, maybe even 1851?

Cheers

Hi Andrea

I am betting this is the  marriage of your Rebecca  - which would be nice, since if she married under her birth surname HERRIDGE (HARADGE) and if her parents were married, it may  name her birth-father AND may have witness or an address  to tie her to the WRIGHT's:

MARRIAGESep  Qtr 1853  -  Wycombe - 3a, pg 557
COLLINS Samuel
HERRIDGE Rebecca

I am sure this will be them on Census 1861 - Rebecca's age right, POB wrong :

1861: Chipping Wycombe, High, Buckinghamshire
REF:  RG9 -  Piece: 856 -  Folio: 21 -  Pg: 35
ADDRESS: Railway Place
Head: Samuel COLLINS 32, Chair Maker
Wife: Rebecca COLLINS 31
Dau: Mary A COLLINS 5
Son: William Hy COLLINS 2
All enumerated as born Wycombe

Mary and Arthur and younger chd are also in Chipping Wycombe, High,  in 1861 at Lower Marsh:
RG9 - Piece: 856 -  Folio: 147 -  Pg41

But here, in 1871 and 1881 - as well as the age continuing to so so, Rebecca COLLINS' POB now ties in perfectly with your Rebecca:

1871: Chipping Wycombe, High, Buckinghamshire
REF: RG10 -  Piece: 1403 -  Folio: 16 -  Pg 23
ADDRESS: 10 Railway Place
Head: Samuel COLLINS 42, Chairmaker, b H. Wycombe
Wife: Rebecca COLLINS 42, Paper Factory Hand, b Ealing Middlesex
Dau: Mary A COLLINS 16, unm, Paper Factory Hand, b H. Wycombe
Son: William H. COLLINS 14, Chair Caner, b H. Wycombe
Dau: Elizabeth COLLINS 5, Scholar, b H. Wycombe
Dau: Georgina COLLINS 3, Scholarb H. Wycombe
Son: Harry COLLINS 1,  b H. Wycombe

1881: Wycombe High, Buckinghamshire
REF: RG11 -  Piece: 1463 -  Folio: 15 -  Pg: 23
ADDRESS: 18*  Railway Place
Head: Samuel COLLINS 52, Chair Maker (Cabt), b Wycombe
Wife: Rebecca COLLINS 51, Paper Mill Hand, b Eling (sic) Middlesex
Dau: Elizabeth COLLINS 15, Paper Mill Hand, b Wycombe
Dau: Georgina COLLINS 13, Scholar, b Wycombe
Son: Harry COLLINS 11, Scholar, b Wycombe

*Incorrectly enumerated as 118 - but the before is 15, 16, 17 and after is 19, 20 etc.

Looks pretty good I reckon  Grin Grin - Hopefully you might get a good lead on Mary Ann WRIGHT / HARADGE/ CLARK from it.

Cheers

If you would like me to look at the parish records to see if it says Widow, I will do when I go to the records office on Tuesday.

Hi again

Not much detail on the marriage cert. They were bachelor and spinster and the witnesses were William Bates and Mary Ann Wright.

Arthur Wright  did have a a sister called Mary Ann Wright born 27 Jan 1815 christened in Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Arthur's parents were John Wright and Elizabeth East married 7th of March 1808 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

They had a total of 11 children all chr in Great Marlow except Arthur. No record of his chr has been found. There is a IGI entry for his Marriage which gives a chr year of abt 1808. Why there is no entry for his chr is a mystery.

He died the 6th of Nov 1880 in Laura Place Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and was buried at Wycombe Cemetery on the 9th of Nov 1880.

Arthur Wright was my GG Grandfather.
