Tailor of Cothill

I have a relative on the 1901 census whose profession states Tailor of Cothill.  He lived in Port Ellen, Isle of Islay at the time.

Does anyone know what this is?

edf not taiklor of cotton? theres cottongrass found growing on hills out on Islay...just guessing lol!
