Hi folks, Am trying to establish who Sophia Sidebotham married in 1852.Stockport.
Listed are Samuel Hallworth Thomas Oldham Sophia Sidebotham Sarah Ann Swift.
So if we can locate them on the 1861 census am hoping it will help. So it will be Samuel and Sophia Hallworth, or Thomas and Sophia Oldham I hope.
I'm hoping Sophia to find Sophia in the 1851 census also.
She was born about 1825ish in Cheshire and was in Hyde in the 1841 census that's about all I know.
Thanks in advance, Lilygirl.

Hi thanks
Is it possible to look for her in 1861 as Sophia Oldham. I found a possible death which looks like she could have married Thomas Oldham.

Hi Lilygirl
Its always best when searching BMD in Cheshire to use the http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/ first, your marriage of Sophia to Thomas Oldham is indexed 1852.
I believe this could be her in 1861
RG9-2551-F80-Page 41 Station Road Hadfield Glossop Derbyshire
Sophia Oldham head 35 widow dressmaker Denton Cheshire Betty daug 15 cotton weaver Hyde Cheshire Sarah daug 7 scholar Glossop Samuel son 5 Glossop Thomas son 1 Glossop
It looks as if Betty was either born out of wedlock or husband Thomas may have been married before.
Really looks as if you need the details from the marriage certificate in order to look further back.
