Wm McKay 1777-1829 Scotland to NS
« on: Wednesday 02 July 08 23:59 UTC (UK) »

Hi all - I have hit the proverbial brick wall looking for the origins of my earliest McKay ancestor, William Curry McKay. William was born abt 1777 in Scotland and died in Shelburne, NS in 1829. He married a Catherine Morrison. She was born in 1777 and died in 1872 in NS.

I believe these individuals were tied to the Ross family and may have come from Caithness or Sutherland Counties in Scotland.

I'd appreciate any insights that any of you may have on pursuing this line further.

Sincerely,

Inez Reed

Thank you. I believe that is the same Wm. McKay. I haven't been able to connect them to any Thurso McKays with any degree of certainty.
