Hi Stephen
Here is my clean up, I am have visitors arriving tonight for the weekend, I will try to add some colour next week, if that's okay. Can you tell me if the ladies eye was like that, or if the original photo is torn in that spot. I would just like to know so I could repair it if it is a photo error.

Hi stephen
Visitors have all left so I am back into colouring. Here is my effort for what it is worth. I have no idea of uniforms or medal thingy's so they will be wrong. Let me know if you know what they are and I can correct them. I have made the image smaller for better viewing (I hope!!) so let me know if you wish a larger version.
I can change anything you don't like so don't hestitate to ask

hi lones,
tremedous work.great!. thanks very much.sorry don't know, off hand the correct medal strip colours,the uniform colour isn't far off, it was a light khaki, the sgt. stripes are white with a dark khaki border.( i am in NO WAY criticising)i am extremely happy. i think it's great.
being cheeky though,( just my preference) could you tone down grannie's dress a little.( not a criticism either)

Your wish is etc etc .... I have changed the stripes, the outer edge did not take the khaki too well, it was too dark to start with, almost dark brown. If I had more knowledge and skill I could probably do it, but still learning over here. I tried to tone down the dress, see if you like it. My monitor must show different to yours as it wasn't all that bright on mine, so we may still have an issue there, let me know and I can try something else.
I do hope your elderly cousin is happy with the picture, that's the reason we do this, to give people some joy.
Let me know and I can alter anything else you like, I will not take offence, perhaps just a gate!! Feeble attempt a humour there.

Have to say Lones I agree ... My monitor showed the original colour you gave the dress as being a very understated cream ... ... the colour of vanilla ice cream !!?

Hi Poll
Thanks for your input, it is hard to tell what they look like on another monitor isn't it? I guess they might print out differently too, come to that. I have only printed one of my colourizations so far, I have been waiting to get them all done for the albums I am doing. I hope they are fairly close to my monitor colour or I could be in real trouble!! I won't be happy then
