Looking for information on Rose Hannah [or Rosannah] Binnion married to James Ingham in Salford, Lancashire late 1800's, in particular her parents who may have been from Gloucestershire.

Thanks T & C

Hi there ....

I have been looking for your Rosannah , for about 3 hours ( family interest , I have Binnions from West Derby )

I can find the marriage of Rosannah to James Ingham

Registered Salford / September quarter 1884 / volume 8d page 89

But nothing else at all ........

There is a Rosanna Binnion on the 1881 census , but she is married , and living at Birmingham , and there is a 13 year old on the 1871 . states she is from Shropshire , and is a servant  in Staffordshire.........

Any possibility you can send for the marriage certificate ?

Have you any idea where James and Rosannah were in 1891 ?
Did they have any children ? It is just possible , that she used her proper christian name on official papers , but used another name within the family ........as I have found to my cost , in my own family...........

Woul like to help , if I can

Kind regards

Hi JeannieR
We know a little more than I put in my post but please forgive us, we're new at this 'posting'.

LDS have Roseannah Benion baptised August 15 1858 in Donington, Shropshire. We found her [we think] in the 1861 census in the Bridgnorth workhouse in Shropshire with her mother Frances. We can not find her father who she lists as Richard - deceased on her marriage certificate in 1884. We have a copy of this.

Rosannah [from marriage cert] and James Ingham had 4 daughters - Frances [my grandmother] and a twin Minnie born 1884, Eveline 1892 and Beatrice 1898. Rose Hannah died in the December quarter 1900 in Failsworth, Lancashire.

On my grandmothers birth certificate the mother is listed as Rosanna Ingham - formerly Bennion.

We are trying to find her father who may have been born around 1832 and what her mothers maiden name was.

JeannieR - Shocked We can't believe what we think we've found. We did a soundex search for Richard Binnion in the Ancestry marriage records. Right at the end of 248 records Richard Bynnion is listed as marrying Frances Cane in the December quarter 1853 in Stourbridge, Shropshire. We don't know how many times we've done that search. While it is no way proof it may be a start. This may also link to a Daniel Binnion we found born 1855 in Shifnal. What do you think?

very best regards - T & C
