From the Huntington burial records at the Borthwick Institute I have identified that John Thomas Atkinson of 15 Middleham Avenue was buried at Huntington Graveyard on the 5th April 1950. I am now trying to find either the date of death or date of burial of his wife Florence Harriet Atkinson. She was born 1872. I have so far failed to identify her death in the GRO death indexes The Borthwick Institute have looked in the Huntington burial records 1939 to 1958 and cannot find a record of her burial. Is there any body out there who can look at the gravestones at Huntington cemetery, identify the gravestone of John Thomas Atkinson and see if his wife is buried with him. Many thanks in anticipation of someone’s help. Regards Brian

Hi Brian,
I admire your persistence with this one
It's great that you tracked John down. At this time Huntington came under Bulmer Registration District so if Florence also died there that would be the one to look for. I expect you've looked up John's GRO death ref but in case you still need it:
John T Atkinson Jun Q 1950 Age 85 Bulmer 1b 562.

Brian,
Thought I'd try post 1958 to follow on from the Borthwick search - what do you think about:
Jun Q 1959
Florence H ATKINSON Age 87 Don Valley 2b 408
Any Doncaster/Barnsley connections?

Hi Pinetree, Thanks for your help The John T Atkinson in Bulmer is her husband I must admit the Florence H at Don Valley is a possibility. I believe that she may have had very poor eyesight and could well have gone to live with one of her daughters. I have no idea where her daughters moved to, my wife is related to the Atkinson's that stayed in Scarborough!!! I had stopped at 1957 looking through the indexes
With regard to a previous comment from Scarbro, I have just had a reply from York register office the Letty Atkinson in his suggestion is not the person I am after. Thanks for your help Regards Brian

Hi Pinetree, After your last message I e-mailed the register office at Doncaster and it look very much as though the death you gave me in Q2 1959 is the one I am after. I'll know for sure when I see the certificate. Correct name, correct husband and the informant lived in York. Many thanks for your help Regards Brian
