Search for Morris Frieser 1831 for one entry and also search for Hyman Frieser 1855 to see Frederick J Frieser with his parents.

The other Hyman does not seem to be living with his brother on the 1881 census so theoretically he could be the one married to Cecilia. However, the fact that Cecilia’s husband is consistently shown to be born in Manchester tends to suggest that the first Hyman is probably the correct one. (I think that this is possibly the 1881 entry for his brother - Prestwich RG11/4021 Folio 17 Page 27)
The 1879 marriage certificate would resolve the matter by indicating the name and occupation of his father.
The 1901 census entry for John Fraser, which I omitted to give above, is at reference Salford RG13/3714 Folio 118 Page 21 where he is shown to be a 21 year old Boarder in the household of a Charles Smith at 17 Kersal View, Pendleton.

hi
i already have john and blanche`s wedding cert and it does say that johns father was called henry fraser and his father was a commercial traveller and it says at time of marriage john lived in manchester......but what gets me is their religion....because the frasers were maybe jewish but my great grandfather was catholic and john married blanche in a catholic church so has john maybe swapped religion as blanche was catholic?....not to sure but i think everything else is a good match dont u?

only one on blanche side the other is a margaret flannigan which could just be a friend...god i hope we`r on the right track....i`m just waiting for someone to email me i think he`s my great grandads nephew he`s looking for the family and has all the info we have including my great grandads mother and father so i hope its right...

Here are some random snippets from the WW1 Service Record of John Fraser.
His Attestation Paper is signed on 8th August 1914. At that time he was 34 years and 358 days old (although on another document it says 34 years and 362 days). He was just less than 5 feet 4 inches and he had brown hair and brown eyes. He weighed 140 lbs.
He was a Motor Driver in the Army Service Corps. Regimental Number 2269. By 1918 he was an acting Company Sergeant Major. He was apparently mentioned in despatches on 24/12/1917 in the London Gazette.
On a document dated 20th August 1915 he gives the following personal information ... Next of kin - Wife, Blanche Fraser, 8 Cambrian Rd, Tunbridge Wells. Married on 25/12/1909, her maiden name being Blanche Ann Baker. Children at that time were Nora born 10/10/1910 Keynsham: John born 04/02/1912 Coventry: Winifred born 20/06/1914 Tunbridge Wells.
On another document dated 11th July 1918 he recorded the birth of Bernard Louis Fraser on 02/07/1918 Tunbridge Wells and provided a new address of 8 Roseberry Gardens, Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells.
He seems to have been demobilised in 01/03/1919 and that was still his permanent address.

It is already known that the first two children, Nora and John had middle names, from previous posts. www.freebmd.org.uk/ can be checked to see if Winifred had a middle initial. It is also possible to discover the birth of another child in Tunbridge Wells in 1920 with a mother’s maiden name of Baker, who probably also belongs to this family.
