According to IGI, Mary Southouse was christened at St. Laurence Thanet on March 13, 1785.
Does anyone have access to those records? If so, does the PR show any other Southouse "activity" for about that same time.
thank you,
Jann

Thank you so much for all the information, especially the marriage licenses.
I am trying to pinpoint Mary Southouse who married Joseph Beavis in 1806. Their marriage took place in Bexhill, but I suspect a connection between the Beavis family and families in Kent since an earlier Beavis married a woman from Wittersham.
As you say Southouse is not a common name.

Interestingly, Mary was born 13 March 1785 and her parents John Southouse and Mary Wilkason married at St Lawrence 23 Jan 1785. John Marshal and John Hales were witnesses at the marriage.
A Mary Jane Southouse was born in 1816, baptised 1 Dec, Mother Mary, no father listed!!
A John Southouse was buried St Lawrence 16th Sep 1798, aged 43, died of Decline.

Thank you for the info on the parents of Mary Southouse. I will add it to my collection.
I've since learned that there were Southouses established in Bexhill in the late 1700's - so maybe my Mary was actually born in Bexhill Jann
