Linking up this post to the one in the Angus board www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,194196.0.html, if you have his parents' details from either his second marriage to Elizabeth Aitken or his death cert, it might be worthwhile including them here in your post.
Sometimes, whilst you might be unable to find your ancestor's birth or christening entry, you could well find details regarding hs siblings and parents recorded.
His first marriage details don't look like they are there. But certainly, from his second marriage cert. you should hopefully be able to get some info to enable you to get back a generation.
Regards.
Monica

HI Gail
I've found your William's parents' marriage (from his MC in 1888) on IGI:
ANNE FULTON Marriages: Spouse: WILLIAM MORRISON Marriage: 11 JUL 1818 Kilmadock, Perth, Scotland
...........but not much else! No children show to this couple on SP or IGI, so may well be that none of their children were registered or OPRs lost/destroyed over the years.

Just to say I can give directions re how to find Mill of Tor if anyone needs it! I went on a wild goose chase there recently, looking for another Mill which turned out o be a couple pf miles away. It is now an ivy-covered ruin - very picturesque! Val

I visited Kilmadock a few weeks ago. Kilmadock Parish Church is right in the middle of Doune and if I remember correctly there was a Kilmadock historical society advertised right accross the road. If you have the time go to the records office in Edinburgh and for £10 you can spend all day looking at all the data they have and certificates only cost 50p each for copies. Definately worth it!!
