Atmospherics, etc. alter the chemical composition.
I don't know whether you have any colour photos from the 1960s. I do and many of them are also showing marked fading.

POSTEES: If possible, PLEASE, scan your images at 300 - 600 dpi, for both ease of restoration and best results
