How to change my profile pic?

Help! I've been trying to change my profile picture. At the moment I've got a coat of arms but want to change it to a picture.

I'm okay getting into my profile. I've then ticked the box saying I'll upload my own pic. Clicked on the browse box and then clicked on the picture I want in My Pictures. It's ref comes up in the right place in my profile but the picture doesn't change!

I must be doing something wrong?!

I sympathise, I had terrible trouble getting that wee chap on the left onto here.  But got there in the end.

     after youv'e done all that,you need to click "change profile" at the bottom of the page.

And I had to exit Rootschat and come back before my greatgrandparents and grandma appeared - actually it took me the best part of today to finally get them to appear Grin

I hope I'm about to astound myself and demonstrate that I'm not completely stupid (just incompletely!!).

My profile pic should now be my cat Poppy who is absolutely a member of my family tree.

Assuming I've done it (dangerous!) thanks for everyone's help but especially Pam who reduced Poppy for me (!!) and talked me through it in a couple of PMs.
