Hi Flett

Here is a hug for you too.

I am sorry I did not use the P.M. to patrish didn't think having been up half the night.
Sorry patrish did not mean to cause you any bother.

Also apologies to suffolkmawther too.

Glad that a few people were able to help you both.

As we know patrish the way we gain knowledge/experience is to ask.  Smiley
even if the topic wasn't started by us.

Next time I will put my brain in gear.

Cheers Sandy

Dear Sandy - no need to apologise, I was just wondering what poor Flett must be thinking having just joined Rootschat - we were all going off in different directions  Smiley

Today was the funeral of a very brave woman - Rhona Damant aged 45 who has shared experiences of living with terminal cancer for the past three years with the readers of the East Anglian Daily Times, and via programmes and reports on her progess on Anglia TV.  She lived in the next village to me and was a wonderful help to me when I lost my brother some years ago - she was the local florist in Lavenham.
She was such a lively personality and did so much to raise awareness of breast cancer and at the same time raised vast amounts of money towards research. She will be missed especially by her husband and her children.

Sandy, I really do feel for you and my thoughts have also been with you this week and also your friend.

All best wishes to everyone

Thanks everyone for your help on this, I'm going to go to Barking Tye and see for myself soon.  Possibly tomorrow if I get a chance but I get little time with a 9month old baby boy to keep me busy!!!

Thanks ever so much, I may call on you again some time.  I hope I can help others in return at some point.  I live in Ipswich so if I can be of any use to anyone then please ASK ME!

I hope the weather stays fine for you Flett  Wink

My friend's daughter lives down a track off the Tye in a very new house, but there are lots of very old properties in the village and a bit of new 'infil' building.

With the Tye on your left driving towards Needham Market, the houses on the right are well set back from the road across a stream/drainage ditch?  I can remember trying to find a cottage along there several years ago for an American researcher.

I was at the office in Ipswich on Friday (SLHC) and then went into the town centre to take several photographs for an Australian researcher.

Be warned, I started this hobby before husband and I were married - 35 years ago, it can become quite addictive, you always need to find that next person in the tree  Grin

At least you are not far from the SRO and the LDS centre  Cool

Good luck with the search  Cheesy
