Can anyone advise me where I may view details of parish records for Suffolk.
I am interested in finding any details of the birth of John Green at Needham Market in 1791

Regards Derek

Hi Derek,

You should be able to find where the records are kept on Genuki, I've had a quick look and Needham comes under Norfolk, not Suffolk, though I believe that the Norfolk/Suffolk boundary has changed a few times.

happy hunting

Hello Derek,

There are a few Needhams around in Suffolk and Norfolk  Grin

The one you are looking for is St John the Baptist at Needham Market, very famous church in Suffolk - do have a look at it on www.suffolkchurches.co.uk it is revered for its Hammerbeam roof - writers have said, 'The culminating achievement of the English carpenter'.
I called in there once to have a look around whilst waiting for my car to be MOTd at Kerridge's Garage on the High Street   Grin

The parish records are on 33 fiche from 1563-1900 at all three branches of the Suffolk Record Office in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft.

They have been filmed so you may be able to order them to your local LDS centre.

With best wishes, SM ...

Every time I find an ancestor, I have to find two more !

SUFFOLK - Pendle, Stygall, Pipe, Fruer, Bridges, Fisk, Bellamy, Sparham
DERBY - Bridges and Frost (originally from Framlingham/Parham Suffolk)
NOTTINGHAM - Lambert and Selby
BERKSHIRE/then Hammersmith/Barnes LND - Fulker
LONDON/MDX - Murray, Clancy, Broker, Hoskins, Marsden, Wilson, Sale

Gt-Grandfather Michael Wilson was born in Cork, lived in Fulham London - arrived Boston USA 1889 alone - what happened next?
