Looking for any REDKISON'S
« on: Sunday 14 November 04 15:33 GMT (UK) »

I am searching for any Redkisons, but  particularly Thomas and Mary who had their first known child , Mary in 1806 in East Sheen. I am aware of five siblings. Any further information about this family in Surrey would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Frances  Smiley

Hi Frances,

This is all rather negative information I'm afraid, but it helps eliminate some possibilities for you.

The Surrey Marriage Index has a William Redkison marrying a Mary Ann Perry in 1825 (no exact date given) in Merton, but no others

The West Surrey Burial Index does not contain any Redkisons.

And the name does not appear in the Surrey Poor Law Index and Calendar.

You may need to look at East Surrey or over the river in Middlesex (Brentford area for example).

Hi Nell,

Many thanks for checking those out for me. I will make a note of the marriage of William, another one to fit in the puzzle! This is a very elusive family, with an uncommon name like Redkison you think it will be much easier than it is! I know there were some in Chelsea after the 1830's which do connect, but its trying to trace further back that is proving more difficult.

Another researcher found me a couple of weeks ago but he is looking in the 1840 - 1860 range at present. May be we will be able to connect one day, who knows?

Thank-you again, Frances
