If Hannah's mother remarried to say Wm Howson maybe thats whom she put as father?? and ither she was wrongly put as Howson or......... wrongly transcribed. Can't understand why Wirksworth though. Seems strange as they were both in Ashbourne. but date would fit with thier dau being born in 1860.
I think its a very strong contender and I do thank you for showing it me.
Angela.

William Howson married Hannah Harrison 16 Oct 1820 in Ilam derbyshire.
They had a daughter Hannah Howson chr 24 May 1829 Lane end, Staffordshire.
Hannah then went on to Marry Jonathan Derbyshire in 1859 in wirksworth.
Lovely all making sense except that the name Rushton has been thrown in.
I am awaiting some scans from a book about Swinscoe from my friend that mentions a child being buried in Common End Swinscoe in 1838 belonging to Hannah Haryson/Rushton.
Hannah Howson was living in Common End in 1841 with dau's Hannah, Sarah, Ann and a child Samuel Harrison age 4. (Except that they all, apart from Samuel, have the surname Rushton)
Now I only started looking at this family when I was trying to find the parents of William Rushton born 1850 Ashbourne, Derbyshire. I could never find any birth record but seeing as his mother used the name Howson on her marriage I checked the chr records again and found a William Howson chr 23 Sep 1850 to mother Hannah Howson in St Oswalds, Ashbourne. This must be my man.
What does anyone think?? I really need some opinions.
Hopefully Angela.

I wonder if this is how the name Rushton came into this family.
There is a William Howson chr 17 Mar 1800 in Ilam, Derbyshire to mother Mary Howson. On the same day in Ilam, Mary Howson married John Rushton.
could it be possible then that William went by both names??? and then wife Hannah couldn't make up her mind whether she should be Mrs Howson or Mrs Rushton?
Any comments people??? or am I confusing everyone?
Angela.
