Front Street is not listed in the current post code directory, which suggests that it no longer exists.

From the listing in the 1881 census, this particular Front Street seems to have been in the village of Portgordon in the parish of Rathven, rather than in the village of Rathven itself (or the town of Buckie). Unfortunately when the 1881 census was transcribed, they omitted the name of the town or village which was at the top of the page, and transcribed only the street name and the parish.

So I think that while the street almost certainly still exists, it has been renamed since 1880. I hazard a guess that it may have been the street at the west end of Portgordon, with houses facing the sea, which now goes under the name of Stewart Street.

     Hi Forfarian,

thanks so much for your reply.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that you are right about the street
    being re-named.

There is a picture of Stewart Street,Portgordon on Undiscovered
    Scotland.

Is there somewhere I can find out for certain.

    Cheers
