Lord Hope of the Curragh

I hope someone can throw some light on this story. The grandfather of a person in Belfast was the footman to Lord Hope of the Curragh. He eloped to Belfast with Lord Hope's daughter.They occupied the building which  became the Ormo Bakery anf they kept horses.The wife would ride her horse on the Ormeau Road and hitch it up outside Anneseley Noble's grocer's shop while she "did the messages". I'm not looking for details of the family just the mysterious Lord who does not appear to be mentioned in "Burke's Peerage and Gentry"   Would the guy have been a wealthy person rather than a Lord? Two Hopes are mentioned in Griffith's Valuation of Kildare 1851 Laurence Hope and Mary Hope, both of the townland of Kilcock in the Parish of Kilcock, are the only ones in Kildare although there were a number of Hopes scattered throughout Ireland.
