CONNOLLYS IN MONAGHAN
« on: Sunday 26 November 06 02:20 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to find my gt gt gt grandfather's birth details. I know he lived in parish of Ematris, Corranewy townland in the 1850s but can't dfind anything else. His wife was Elizabeth Jackson

They had 2 sons I know of. One William who went to NSw and the other James my gt gt grandfather who married a sarah Campbell. they came to Glasgow in 1860s.

As well as trying to find out about gt gt gts I am also seeking siblings other than the 2 above.

If anyone can help would be v grateful.

Thanks

Ann

Hi Nantuckett

Have you got any names because I have more Campbell names than Connollys?

The Campbells were actually from Silverstream in Monaghan. Sarah who married my James moved to Achnacue to live with her sister, she met him and here I am!

So if you have specific names let me know and will check and see if any match up. Off top of my head I know her father was Matthew.

Cheers

Hi Ann,  I have a Margaret Campbell who married Thomas Hammill.   She was born 1832 they had children but werre all born in Canada.  They were both from Monaghan.  I have other names from the same area Greenan, hughes,  McGaigue, Halfpenny &  Connolly.  I don't know when they came to Canada but the children started coming in 1860.
Never know we may get a match one day.

Hi Nantuckett

I don't see a Margaret on my list but the Campbells were a big family and I have just scratched surface . Might take me a while cos this is one where need to go there but hoping to later in year.

If I find anything I will definitely let you know

Hi Ann,
