HEADs of Oxfordshire
« on: Monday 27 November 06 17:02 GMT (UK) »

I have just found the baptism of my gggg grandmother, Mary HEAD, in Thame in 1740.  Next step - find her parents.

Six Head children are baptised - all refered to in their mother's will as sons or daughters. But the OFHS transcript for Thame shows 3 mothers (in order Eliz, Mary, Eliz, Mary, Sarah & Sarah).

Mary is the one who made the will in 1789 (long after the children were baptised.

So I am looking for the marriage of Richard HEAD to Elizabeth, Mary and/or Sarah 1730-40. The IGI has no obvious hits.

Hi Newburychap

Had a look on the OFHS Oxfordshire Parish Marriage Index

The only marriage for a Richard HEAD (tried various spellings)
was this one

17 Aug 1710  Richard HEAD to Elizabeth WALLIS at Swyncombe

I had found that one but it seems too early to be particularly relevant. Children were baptised in Thame from 1739 to 1750.
